Wow, sorry for the long delay in blog posts. This has been a very busy semester for EWB-VMI and things are really picking up. Many blog posts to come with information about upcoming trips to Haiti and Bolivia as well as what is going on with the club. But, for now, let’s talk about the fantastic trip we just took to New York for the purposes of fundraising for the Bolivia and Haiti projects.
A gracious invite and well planned trip by Steve Mills ’94 provided an opportunity for two cadets (Carrie Wortham and Tom Battiata) to deliver a fundraising/update presentation to a group of interested VMI Alumni and friends. The presentation was a success and the accommodations were amazing. EWB-VMI truly cannot begin to express our gratitude to Steve and the wonderful attendees of the fundraising dinner. It was such an honor to be able to speak to the group about how we can all make EWB-VMI and the current work we are doing more successful now and in the future. We truly could not do this work without the support of VMI Alumni and friends.
The presentation took place at Keen’s Steakhouse in Manhattan, and the venue, food, guests and presentation were all amazing. What an awesome time, and what an amazing group of people pledging to help support EWB-VMI.
If you are interested in helping to provide support for the cadets and EWB-VMI, please go to www.vmi.edu/foundation. Follow the “Give To VMI” link. Be sure to select “other” under where to donate, and in the box, put “VMI – Engineers Without Borders”.
Thanks again for yor support it means so much to us and to the people of Haiti and Bolivia.
